IP intelligence for founders & inventors

Know what to protect.
Build a moat investors trust.

FyrDraft helps founders and inventors figure out what’s genuinely new in their work, which competitors’ patents could block it, and how to grow an idea into something truly patentable. It puts real IP analysis — freedom-to-operate, novelty, and landscape — within reach of any budget, no $20–50k legal bill required.

For founders, not just lawyers

Ask IP questions in plain language and get answers you can act on — even if you’ve never filed a patent.

Grounded in real patent data

Answers are built on live USPTO & EPO data and a proprietary patent graph — not a chatbot guessing patent numbers.

For attorneys: prepared clients

Stop turning away good founders over budget — or writing off the hours to get them ready. They arrive organized and fluent in their IP space, so your time is expert judgment, not commodity prep: more time for claim strategy, fewer budget conversations, and a growing book of clients who scale with you.

What you can do

Understand your IP space like a pro

You’re the inventor — the genius is yours. You can feel when something’s new in your product; the hard part is knowing how to protect it. You have what it takes to invent around the obstacles — if you could only see them clearly. FyrDraft maps the IP landscape around your work: where competitors have staked their claims, and where the open ground is. Then it helps you explore and shape your invention along more patentable directions — so you turn your best ideas into real protection.

Freedom to Operate

Know whose patents sit in your path before you build, ship, or raise — and where there’s room to move around them.

“Can someone’s IP shut me down if I build this way?”

Novelty

Pinpoint what’s truly inventive in your work versus the prior art — and what’s already been done.

“What’s actually new and worth protecting?”

Open space & landscape

See what’s already owned around you and where the white space is — so you claim ground that actually protects your product.

“Where can I credibly file and win?”

Strategy

Find which way to grow your idea into defensible IP — toward open space, around the crowded prior art.

“Which way do I grow this into a real moat?”

Disclosure & drafting

Turn a rough write-up into a structured disclosure with the inventive parts captured for claim support — clean and attorney-ready.

“Get this review-ready, fast.”

Monitoring

Watch your space as new patents publish, so your strategy stays sharp as you grow.

“Tell me when the landscape shifts.”

How it works

From the seed of an idea to a defensible patent

You bring the invention. FyrDraft runs the disclosure, landscape, and drafting process a top patent attorney would — with you in the loop at every step.

💬 “Tell me about your product idea…”
Start with a short questionnaire or just chat — guided either way.
go deeper Your open space ✓ novel — nothing covers it ✓ clear to operate (FTO) ⚠ rivals crowd X → drafted around Surface what’s new chat or drop docs Search the prior art deep search + patent graph Find your open space Draft, ready to file patent + attorney memo

1 Surface what’s new

Start with a short questionnaire or a quick chat. FyrDraft probes like a senior attorney for the key steps, the enabling detail, and your secret sauce, turning a high-level idea into specific candidate inventions.

2 Search the prior art

FyrDraft runs deep research and a patent-graph search on your novel ideas, then shows you the closest prior art against each candidate claim.

3 Find your open space

See what’s crowded and where you’re clear. When art is close, FyrDraft goes deeper — sharpening or drafting around it — and loops the search until you find defensible ground.

4 Draft, ready to file

End with a rich, enabled disclosure and a file-ready patent, plus a short attorney guidance memo. File it yourself, or hand your attorney a running start.

Explore

Grow your idea where the patent space is open

As you turn ideas into products, FyrDraft maps the IP landscape around your work — so you keep your freedom to operate, see what’s genuinely patentable, and learn which direction to push an idea to make it defensible.

  • Stay free to operate — see whose patents sit near what you’re building before you commit.
  • Find your real invention — which parts of your product are novel and worth protecting, and which are already crowded.
  • Know which way to grow — develop a thin idea into a strong one, or steer toward open space instead of a wall of prior art.
  • Aim your creativity — “this direction is well-covered, but the area you hinted at looks open — let’s go deeper there and you’ve got real patent potential.”
  • Build your IP knowledge base — FyrDraft finds the closest art and asks the questions an attorney would. Your answers and notes — captured, organized, tied to the art — compound into a proprietary advantage that grows with every filing. Your competitive expertise levels up, and if you go to counsel it’s already at their fingertips, saving iterations and budget.

A traditional prior-art search costs thousands of dollars and hours of patent counsel time. On a tight budget it often falls out of scope — so founders get blindsided by the examiner’s prior art long after filing, when it’s too late to invent around it. FyrDraft makes it affordable, narrows it down, and captures your read on the closest art up front — so you focus on what’s protectable, and your attorney starts from a refined set enriched with your notes and insights, not a blank search.

FyrDraft drafting workspace

Protect

A drafting workspace, not a black box

FyrDraft helps you write — it never takes the pen out of your hand. Generate, review, and revise section by section.

  • Critique my writeup — a clear summary of your invention and the missing facts to add before drafting.
  • Staged pipeline, your pace — technical interview, figures, outline, full draft, clean spec: step through it, or run “Draft Start to Finish.”
  • Attorney TODO markers — the draft flags exactly where expert judgment is needed, so nothing critical is assumed.
  • Works where you work, exports ready — Web, Word, and MCP; file it yourself or have counsel refine it in FyrDraft.
Not just a patent — a thorough, well-organized invention disclosure. Founders who understand their IP space can file confidently on their own, or hand their attorney answers that are already organized and ready for review, saving hours of billable time on boilerplate prep.

For patent attorneys

The AI built to grow your practice — not replace it

While other AI races to auto-draft attorneys out of the deal, FyrDraft does the opposite: it sends you founders who already understand their IP space and arrive organized. Recommend it, and turn budget-limited founders you’d have to turn away into a book of business that scales.

Your time, reallocated
Today write-offs repetitive prep paid work With FyrDraft more founders paid work

First, write-offs become paid work. Then repetitive prep becomes time with more early founders — more shots at the one that grows into an anchor client.

Recommend it, grow your book

Tell founders to run FyrDraft first. Founders who could never afford white-glove counsel come back prepared — and become clients you keep as they raise and scale.

Higher-value hours, fewer write-offs

Founders arrive with inventive elements extracted and disclosed for claim support. Your time goes to claim strategy and expert judgment — not the commodity prep you usually eat or write off.

Start at a higher level

IP-fluent founders mean conversations begin primed: no boilerplate, fewer budget talks, deeper strategy — and better patents within the budget each client has.

“You’ve got a limited budget — run FyrDraft first, then come back to me. With that strong start, I can stretch your budget and focus it on the strategy and polish you need most.”  — the conversation FyrDraft makes possible.

Private & secure by design

Your inventions stay confidential

FyrDraft is built for confidential invention data — enterprise-grade identity and a private context vault for everything you share.

  • Microsoft Entra identity on Azure — enterprise-grade authentication
  • Private context vault — your disclosures aren’t used to train AI models
  • Grounded answers — cited to real patents, not hallucinated

FAQ

Questions founders ask us

Who is FyrDraft for?

Startup founders building something novel, technical and solo inventors turning what they’ve built into a filing-ready draft, and the patent attorneys who serve them — who get better-prepared clients and organized materials, so their time goes to strategy and high-value judgment.

Is my invention data confidential?

Yes. FyrDraft is built for confidential invention data — Microsoft Entra identity on Azure and a private context vault, and your inventions are never used to train AI models. We do study usage patterns in aggregate — what people are trying to do — to decide which features and integrations to build next, but that’s product behavior, not your invention content.

Do I still need a patent attorney?

You can get a long way on your own. FyrDraft takes you from blank page to a high-quality, ready-to-file patent — and we recommend filing early as a provisional to lock in your priority date as first-to-file and protect your idea, which also buys a confidential year to test it in the market. We’re building tools to help you file “pro se” (on your own) with the patent office. But for the strongest commercial protection in the years after you file, we recommend a patent attorney — and FyrDraft makes that engagement go further on any budget.

I’ve never filed a patent. Is this for me?

Absolutely. FyrDraft is designed for founders and inventors, not just lawyers. Ask questions in plain language, and it guides you from “what’s even worth protecting?” to a filing-ready draft.

How is this different from ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini?

We use the best of them under the hood — what we add is everything they’re missing to explore the IP landscape and draft a patent worth filing. A general chatbot can retrieve a handful of documents, but it can’t compare millions across art units, product categories, and claim features. It also doesn’t have what the FyrDraft team brings — the unwritten expertise of decades of senior patent-attorney practice. And while these models were trained on patents, they can’t reliably retrieve them: they confidently invent patent numbers and prior art that lead you astray.

FyrDraft fills those gaps. We give the AI the tools it needs: a proprietary patent knowledge-graph database to ask deep questions across all patents, and analysis pipelines that run real patent-prosecution workflows the same way every time, with dependable answers.

Free research with a chatbot is a fine place to start. But to draft a patent worth filing — one that holds up and protects your product against your competitors — you need AI backed by FyrDraft.

What does it cost?

About $300–$500 for a typical user — covering IP analysis, landscaping, and drafting a patent worth filing. That’s a fraction of a traditional $20,000–$50,000 IP engagement.
